Menya Musashi is a restaurant that famous for their ramen. Most people visit this place for their ramen with various type of soup to choose from. I personally love the taste of their soup especially the sesame flavour. I've been here multiple times and normally it'll be packed with people. For Ramen lovers, this is definitely a must try place! Here's what I've tried so far:-It is curry mixed flavour that have thick curry taste but it's not spicy at all.- This one is my all time favourite, sesame flavour. - This is like an main and simplest flavour, garlic flavour. You can try this out first, before you try other flavours. continue reading

Back to basics - instead of all the special flavours, I decide to try the shio ramen, which basically just salt-based broth (of course, with all the porky goodness too). Not surprisingly, the broth was very salty, but very pleasantly so. The meat was tender and fatty. continue reading

Menya Musashi is located at First Floor, Isetan One Utama Shopping Centre. It is named after a legendary samurai, Miyamoto Musashi, who was famous for his double sword style. You need to place your order and pay first at the counter before taking your seat. But don't worry, they will serve you the food. It has a open concept kitchen where you can see how the food is being prepared. You can feel the atmosphere full with energy as you can hear the chefs shouting out some Japanese word loudly when they pull the noodles to the air from the boling water to strain them. This is an interesting view in this restaurant. I have ordered Aka Musashi Ramen, which comes with 2 pieces of roasted pork, half egg, spring onion and black fungus. The soup based is called Aka, which means home made musashi chilli flavour oil. The noodles is firm, thick and quite chewy. The broth looks red and spicy and it taste creamy and rich with flavour. The pork slices is tender and tasty. I would recommend this for anyone who like spicy dish. Overall, I think the whole dish is amazing. continue reading

Musashi Ramen @ RM27.00I walk in here because of the picture that advertise their ''tomato'' ramen. Only when i enter i notice is actually the tomato oil, their favouring for the ramen. All their ramen is actually of the same pork soup base but is the favouring that matters. The soup is super thick and delicious. I believe they actually boiled it for hours. There is a layer of tomato oil and some cherry tomato in it but i just can taste a mild tomato flavour only. The ramen comes with a big piece of char siew with some fats. The meat taste like ham and is quite juicy and tender. I personally like the noodle as is just nice to bite, not very hard nor soft. continue reading

the kitchen at menya musashi is an open concepti think this is a good marketing gimmick because passer-bys will stop to look at the actions of the chefsand that is the time the waiter brings a menu and tries to persuade the passer-by to come in and eatthe weekend special ramen that costs RM35++ comes with a small bowl of saladthe dressing of course is famous sesame saucethere is also a big bowl of rice with pork cubes on it and garnished with spring onionsthe rice unfortunately was quite poor because it is not stick and the size is not like the authentic Japanese ricewith this rice, i think this weekend special set can be shared by two peoplethe last food item in the set is a three piece gyoza served with a side of vinegar dip continue reading
