The first Little Fat Duck I have been was at Tropicana Mall and since we were on a budget and I spotted this small cafe at the old wing lower ground food zone in One Utama on Saturday, 22 Jan 2016, we went there for dinner after watching Ride Along 2 Comedy at TGV with my free movie tickets. The prices here are super reasonable for workers and students alike.Pesto Spaghetti (RM 6) - Costs RM 5 on Pesto Day Since the price is super cheap, the accompanying dish like the deep fried fish is very small. I preferred the non-fried dory fish that was served together with this pesto the other day.Grilled Chicken with Mashed Potato (RM 15) Set for FridayThis comes together with iced lemon tea (super sweet), milk pudding, hard mashed potato and a small grilled drumstick. There is also sauce poured on top. I kept eating this with chilli powder since there was not much spice. The chicken is tender enough.Details: Address: LGK102A-LGK103, Lebuh Bandar Utama, Bandar Utama City Centre, Bandar Utama, 47800 Petaling Jaya continue reading

We were strolling around the mall to look for some affordable food and the banner in front of “Little Fat Duck” caught our attention. It offers selected spaghettis (ie: Spaghetti Bolognese, Carbonara, Creamy Pesto Fish and Mushroom Mornay) at a very affordable price of RM5 on every weekdays except for Friday Chicken Confit and some sides at RM15. We ordered 2 plates of spaghetti, Chicken Carbonara and Creamy Fish Pesto.I dined there on a Wednesday where they were having promotion for the Chicken Carbonara, only RM5 per serving. The carbonara was rich with cream which made so tasty. The chicken given was just small slices of chicken ham where my sister isn’t fond of it.I had the Creamy Fish Pesto (RM6) instead. The fish served was grilled salmon. They were very generous at giving the salmon, I can taste the salmon almost every bite. However, the pesto sauce wasn’t as good as expected. In fact, it didn’t taste like pesto at all. It tasted similar as the carbonara but in green instead of white; it is lack of basil, which I find is the most important ingredient in cooking pesto sauce.Creamy Fish Pesto can be bought at RM5 on Tuesdays. continue reading

Little Fat Duck is a popular food truck in Kuala Lumpur for their RM 5 Pastas and now they have opened their first KIOSK in 1 Utama Shopping Centre (Nearby Kenny Rogers Roasters) The KIOSK offers very limited choices of Pasta, Beverages, Side Dishes, and Puddings. The Pasta of the days are priced at RM 5, Bolognese (Monday), Pesto (Tuesday), Carbonara (Wednesday), Mornay (Thursday) but for Friday it is RM 15 for Confit + Ice Lemon Tea+ Pudding . The Kiosk started filling up for dinner and they only have super limited tables therefore if you wish to dine-in please be early to avoid any disappointment or you can take away the foods. You have to order and pay at the counter. After payment you will be given a number and once your order is ready they will call your number to pick up the foods.Pesto was creamy but it lack of rich Basil taste. It’s topped with a pan-fried dory fish that tasted quite good.Pesto Pasta @ RM 5As for Carbonara, they have 2 choices to choose either Beef or Chicken. I choose Beef Carbonara. The Pasta was yummy and they are very generous with the sauce. I love the creamy carbonara sauce swim in my food. I am so delighted to see that!!Carbonara Pasta @ RM 6 as it is not Pasta Of the Day.It was a perfect dinner for us. The foods are yummy, friendly and quick service. In my opinion, I think the portion of the “Pasta of the day” was smaller than the Ala-Cate whereby the difference is just RM 1 so I think it is valuable for money to order Ala-Cart than ordering “Pasta of the Day.”Little Fat Duck,LG103, One Utama Shopping Centre,Opening Hours: 10am-10pm continue reading
