This place is seriously so far from PJ and it took almost 45 minutes to reach there! We were worried there would not be a table available if we come for dinner so we came for lunch instead. We ordered the Herbal Tea Pot Soup (RM 32) which was my top favourite. I love the clear soup which was has strong flavours of the pork that was probably used to slow cook this. The pork parts used were incredible! The best part was that this soup was served in small tea cups which made drinking it more tasteful. This place is very creative in presentation. I ordered the Spinach with Crabmeat Sauce (RM 19) which was so reasonably priced. In Chinese, this dish is called Moonlight Dish because of the 2 egg yolks. The sauce is thick, probably cooked using a lot of corn flour. The small pieces of crab meat so I feel this dish is quite worth the price. Another dish I would have regretted if I had canceled and I almost did since I was worried there were too many dishes for the day, was the Mini Bun with Fish Fillet (RM 20). Despite being fried till crispy on the outside, the tenderness of the fish is retained. The buns were also soft and fluffy like cotton.Salted Fish with Green Spicy Sauce (RM 34) was also so delicious. The strange part is that the Chinese name is called One Night Stand. The fish flesh was so succulent. The sauce was just nice and not too spicy but the best part was that it was sour enough which made me like it. I am definitely coming back here for the Lemon Paku-pakis and other unique dishes. The price is also very reasonable because 4 dishes only totaled up to RM 115.55! I could not imagine eating steamed fish for RM 34 in today's world in a restaurant!  continue reading

Restaurant Lee Hong Kee 李雄记 is located in Kampung Baru Sungai Buloh, nearby Sungai Buloh Police Station. This restaurant originally located at the same area, but with smaller restaurant. Parking is not an issue here as there are plenty of free car park along the shop lot. If you go in a big group, make sure you call up and book the table first. If not, I would recommend to reach here around 6pm to avoid long queue, especially during weekend. This newly renovated restaurant is air conditioned and the environment is very nice, some sort of high end Chinese restaurant. W have ordered one of their signature dish, which is Dong Tuk Chicken (Standing Chicken)@RM45. We are given a box of disposable plastic glove which use to tear the chicken apart. The skin is very crispy and the meat is very tender and juicy. We also have ordered Beancurd Delight ( home made beancurd with minced pork)@RM18 and Loh Han Zai ( Stir Fried Mix Vege)@RM18. Both dished are nice and the portion quite big. The staff here are very friendly and they serve the food quite fast. Overall although the food is a bit pricey, but i think it still worth the money for it's quality and environment. continue reading

is there any particular restaurant(s) that you always go back whenever you’re craving for certain food? Restoran Lee Hong Kee has always been our favourite restaurant when it comes to Chinese food!the dishes are nothing over the top but homey and tasty, wait staffs are hospitable, and location is strategic too (to us la). the new location is even better with ample parking lots! it’s previously known as Restoran LYJ. new name for new premise perhaps?the new old Restoran Lee Hong Kee located at Kampung Baru Sungai Buloh, a Chinese settlement.they do wedding dinners too. i’m not sure how many pax can they cater, you might have to call in to check {Klang Valley} Restoran Lee Hong Kee @ Kg. Baru Sg. BulohChinese tea is best paired with Chinese food!Leaf Lettuce 清炒油麦 | RM18simple stir-fried leaf lettuce with garlic and soy sauce.Beancurd Delight 沙煲豆腐 | RM 18braised tofu with veggies and black fungus.Sweet & Sour Pork Chop 排骨王 | RM 22one of my MUST-ORDER whenever i’m dining in Chinese restaurant! meat was solid, taste was great, the only complain is, the gravy was too starchy :/ i never likey gluey texture like this..Claypot Fish 生煲鱼 | RM 38this was the first time i had this fish dish! really really fresh fish steamed in a claypot. pretty interesting. the flesh was really soft and remember to drizzle some of the gravy on! don’t fancy the smelly grasses scattered around though.complimentary plate of fruit to end our delightful lunchy!all these came up to slightly over RM 100 inclusive of four rice and tea, which fed four of us well, pretty reasonable we thought.and if you are here for the first time, you might wanna try the roasted chicken which is served standing errr elegantly with its nose held high! you will be given pair of scissors and gloves and you’ll have to dissect it yourself! pretty fun!i donno if you’ve ever heard of a song, Summer Girls by LFO, one of the line says ‘Chinese food makes me sick’. they have no taste betul. tsk. continue reading

This restaurant is busy and lots of customers. Our favourite is the pun choy besides kerabu paku pakis ; braised peanuts with pork belly meat ; and another favourite fried bittergourd with clams. The pun choy is well served with layers of meat and vegetable and are sufficient for craving of 8-10 persons. Kampung chicken, fried ma yau fish, crispy duck meat and its succulent prawns, mushroom, broccoli; OysterChestnut; Stewed Pork; Fish Maw; Abalone; Pork Knuckle; Chicken Leg. Very fulfilling dinner. continue reading
