I was looking at Mid Valley Directory page and I recall this place called Reminisce Cafe which is located at Ground Floor, at the walkway outside where you can see the Maybank and Police Station, Reminisce cafe is just at the same row. I choose to dine in here for second time to try out their menu. I visited this place last three years and I realize they have change the layout and some added features in their unique cafe. Nostalgic moments ever, and I miss the decorations that is really eye catching and i will staring at those vintage collections for a couple of minutes and showing my girl and telling them this is Mummy childhood accompanies.Reminisce cafe have extended and improve their menu and more choices of Local and Western food available. Local traditional food such as nasi lemak is a must try. Their chicken chop with different kind of gravy and sauce also looks appealing. We ordered this Butter pork belly served with steamed rice for RM 14.90.Fragrant and flavouful. The sauce was intensely creamy and rich. I want to give them the compliment on the sambal. It was really great! I love the sambal so much! Palatable dish with reasonable price.Pan Mee Soup - The highlight for this particular dish goes to the delicious sweet broth and the combination of super spicy chili. Simple and traditional way of pan mee soup with minced pork meat, black fungus, spinach, fu chok, anchovies and pork ball. The portion of the smooth pan mee is quite alot for only RM 9.90. Hot sun dried longan and luo han fruit drink RM 4.90. Best to have it during the hot weather Blowing the biggest and round balloon game. When i see this, I quickly bought 3 tubes with 3 straws and begin to blow it to show my naughty kids. They are looking at me wondering what is this?? And they patiently waiting for me to blow the balloon. As far as i remember, during my childhood times, I used to buy this with my sister and cousins and we will make it into a teddy bear, and trying to compete who will be getting the biggest size of the balloon. But firstly,we do a little bit of inspection to ensure each tube is soft. The sticky glue coming out from the tube will then attached to the corner end of the straw and we will start to blow it slowly and ensure there is no hole in between. If there is a small hole, we will quickly covered it up and continue to blow it. This is much more fun than the usual rubber balloon that we are using nowadays. Towards the end, the balloon will shrink and we make it into the smallest size and pinch on each others forehead..haha Gotcha! My girl is still curious and was thinking what is mummy doing..Why the "Balloon" sizes is different and began to shrink?? Oh ya and why they become so sticky when it shrink??Glance through the whole cafe surrounds with my childhood toys, musical instrument, my hobbies, collections and also the card game such as old maid, happy family and etc. There are comic books, stickers, telephone, typewriter, soft drinks bottle , the sticks game, guli and lots more!!..Now my girl is throwing me a hard question.. "What is this??" Showing and pointing at the pair of old roller skate shoes? Hmm.. ok, now go and ask daddy instead. The place is refurnished with more comfy place to dine inThe junk food that I always looking forward for after school and also every week will buy this . They also have Tora and Ding Dang selling at RM 3 each.It is really a mix emotions when I leave this place. I MISS my childhood so badly and yes Reminisce Cafe aims to bring back the memories of the past. Nice place to dine in with family and friends. Service is good too.Reminisce CafeLot G (E) 019, Ground External Floor,Mid Valley Megamall,Mid Valley City,Lingkaran Syed Putra,59200 Kuala Lumpur.Tel: 03-2201 8168Opening hours: Mon – Sat :7:30 am – 11:00 pm Sun : 9:00 am – 10:00 pm Past Review : http://speciality-weekendtreat.blogspot.com/2011/07/reminisce-cafe-mid-valley.html continue reading

Aptly named Reminisce, this restaurant had the place all done up ala old skool Chinese style. The interior was rustic and filled with antiques as decorations in every nook and cranny of its vicinity. Even the walls were just bare bricks! But first! Before the delicacies arrive our tables, I'd usually check out the place first. When it comes to an awesome restaurant, you've gotta look at all aspects, never just the food! The ambience and setting plays a huge role in the atmosphere of a complete dining experience The first meal then arrived, very light – serves as a good appetizer before the heavy stuff comes in! Here's the toasted soft bun with Bak Kwa, Meat Floss & EggNext up was the Traditional Yam Cake which was simply delish The next meal that came was somewhat a little heavier, but one of our personal favorites of the night.Behold, the Dry Curry Chicken Noodles! To every other pork lover, here's the Stuffed Pork Balls with Satay SauceProps to the owners and the team who actually made the place look so close to a food outlet from the past! continue reading

here in reminisce cafe is from the 80′s such as comic books, stickers, telephone cards, soft drink bottles and more. It was really interesting to see ornaments that I used to play with, and the junk food that i always eat last time. like the simple dish of the rice with egg. good to have it with sambal too.and here picking the best of local street snacks, ranging from dry curry chicken noodle, and the lo mai kai here too. continue reading

When one talk of "Reminisce", one thinks about our past. Our childhood moments growing up. Those good old comfort food that mom/grandma would prepare; or you can just buy off the street corners from that friendly uncle/auntie. Yes, that's what this cafe is all about. From the wall deco, table settings to the unique pieces adorning the entire place. I really like it. Now to the food. I would say I like their herbal duck soup noodles as it's light and the goji berries that comes with it gives it a refreshing herbal taste. Their dry curry mee also packs a delicious, flavorful punch. Carrot cake is also not bad;with lots of bean sprouts and enough 'wok-hei'. Also do try their chicken burger with the dry meat, chicken floss and egg. Nice! continue reading
