Every time I see a Mexican outlet, I could never resist myself especially if the price is reasonable. I ordered the Southwest Mixed Crispy Taco (RM 6.90) and added RM 6.90 for the side dishes of nachos with cheese and also Pina Colada pineapple juice. I have tried the tacos here several times and I liked the affordable price and also tastiness. There were a lot of ingredients inside and it is not too filling.  continue reading

Nacho ChipsActually, am not that big fan of nachos chips. I find them bit coarse and hard at times, compared to the smoother potatoes chips that is much easier on our taste bud Occasionally, you would taste some burnt part of the nachos, due to over baked on that area. It is savory by its nature with some accompanied brittleness. When they are mixed with sauces like mayo, chilli and cheese, they seems to quite good to go. The rather bland chips are then enhanced with bit spiciness and also some creaminess of the cheese-mayo too. continue reading

We were in KLCC one day and we were hungry and wanted a light bite before we headed elsewhere for dinner. We didn't want something too heavy, so we decided to try Popilla. It's cleverly named using a Mexican spelling, pronounced as "popiah" (most Malaysians are ignorant and don't know that double-L in Mexican is pronounced as a "Y"); since tacos are pretty much like popiahs. Nothing out of this world here - simple chilli con carne (beef cooked in chilli, Mexican style) with cheese and lettuce, stuffed into a crispy taco shell. The chilli itself wasn't rich and thick - tasted watered down, and the beef is not in large quantity as it should be. At least the cheese tasted a little sharper than the usually ones you find in individual wraps at the supermarket. It's also really messy to eat because of the crispy shell. I prefer soft shell. continue reading

A light snack is just what you need to withstand another hour before your main meal. When I was so hungry in KLCC, I came across this kiosk. Hence, the beef con carne taco. The portion wasn't big, easily finished within 1 minute. The taco was crispy and served warm.Wrapped inside the taco was beef con carne, which is also known as chili with beef. It was not super hot and spicy; in fact it was as close as cold but you can still sense the little warmth it contained. It was rather bland. The texture was alright but could be better. Overall was not too bad. continue reading
