Yut Kee is a very old restaurant which famous for their Hananese Chicken Chop. I got to know this for very long time. Therefore, I have arranged my time to pay a visit here. Yes, I came for breakfast and expected the crowd is there. Their service no doubt is fast, we managed to get a table without need to wait for long.Of course, I am here today to try their Hainanese Chicken Chop. The service is really impressive and my foods were came in swift. The chicken chop was debone, deep fried with egg batter, cover with light brown thick sauce. Something puzzle me was the gravy was taste like brown sauce instead of tomato sauce because this is Hananese style of cooking. Anyway, the chicken chop was tender and flavour. It came with side dishes potato chunk and mixed vegetable.French Toast was one of the signature here. Thick toast spread with peanut butter jam, coated with egg wash and deep fried to golden brown colour. It came with kaya at a side. The French Toast was just alright with me. I personally feel that the dish was a bit oily. Moreover, the kaya was just too lumpy without much Kaya fragrant.Verdict, the overall foods were acceptable. To me, one visit is more than enough. The service here is a plus point as the foods were served fast. Other than that, is nothing for me to shout about. continue reading

This is one of the oldest coffee shops in Kuala Lumpur if not Malaysia. A true institution and must visit for all. Its gets very crowded so please be prepared to wait. Tables are shared most of the time due to how popular they are. Don't be put off though as its all worth it.Service is prompt and good. They remember whos waiting in line and will seat you the moment space clears up. No cutting queues here. The owners are super friendly and usually remembers the usuals. They have amazing selection of local favourites which are very yummy and of good value. Make sure you try the pork chop, roti bakar, roti babi, marble cake, lum mee, kaya roll and beef noodles. Their kaya is home made and so lovely. Make sure to grab a cup to go. Their thick local coffee is also to die for. Once I had 4 cups! On weekends they have their pork roast with crackling and this is a real treat. However it sells out within an hour after coming out of the oven! They might move soon as the original tenants want the building back however they will move nearby so no worries you still have your chance to try this place out. Not to be missed! continue reading

Yut Kee is so famous and been around for almost a decade, it crowded every now and then, famous for its Roasted Pork and Roti Babi.Parking space is quite limited in that area, you may drive down further and there is a small parking space on your left.Read more: http://www.tasteiest.com/2010/07/yut-kee-famous-roast-pork-2.html#ixzz2zZx0R8l7Signature dish, Roasted pork served only on Fridays and Sundays from 11.00am till it’s sold outRead more: http://www.tasteiest.com/2010/07/yut-kee-famous-roast-pork-2.html#ixzz2zZx2SZPKA single portion RM10 has only two thin slice of roasted pork, the skin crunchy, meat tender and succulent. Love their pork, fish and chicken chop. Their belacan fried rice is delicious, too, but really, really spicy. I love their kaya swiss roll, never failed to buy 1 box to share wif my colleagues and family. The only downside is the limited seatings. Must come super early. By 12PM, patrons will be queueing almost to the road and it takes a long time to wait for the seats to be available. And it's very noisy during lunch time, too.   continue reading

It was pretty weird to see a very Chinese-like restaurant to serve foods like this. This is not any ordinary pork chop. The gravy was something else! No wonder this was so popular. For ten ringgit, I'd say this was a steal.I didn't really like the roti babi though. First of all, it looked very unpresentable. I mean just look at it. I held very high hopes for this one, but this is just mehhh. Maybe because I don't like tunas and also the portion is too small!I saw a lot of people buying the cakes from the counter and also ordering to their tables. So, I decided to buy some to try too. Beside this, they also sell rolls. This is not half-bad actually. continue reading
