Despite the obscure location, Kedai Makanan Kim Poh at Segambut is usually packed with customers. Most of their customers are loyal and provide repeat business. That explains why they are still going strong after being in food business for over 40 years. One could expect a simple meal here and there are only a handful of food to order, and that includes their signature Kampar style claypot chicken rice and double boiled soups. There are a couple of soups to choose from and we chose the old cucumber and pork ribs soup. It was delicious and full of flavour. I think we enjoyed the soup more than the rice actually.Overall, Kim Poh is a decent place for claypot chicken rice. Just get your expectations straight and you won’t be disappointed if you treat it as a no-frills lunch or dinner. But if you’re a real picky eater, this probably isn’t for you continue reading

It just spoiled our Sunday brunch. We arrived at 11:15am, the shop is empty. We thought we arrived too early. One of the Indonesian female worker told us need to wait until 11:30am. We seated & wait. OMG !We were attacked by flies & mosquitoes !The shop is poorly managed & dirty.  The dish was served at 1145am, BUT the rice is undercooked, and we requested the Indonesian worker to cook second round for another 10 minutes. The boss is not in and the rice is prepared by the workers instead of the boss only as what mentioned at Open Rice.Chaypot rice's taste was average, the chicken is tender & good, but the rice is too wet. Overall I gave it score 3 out of 10. I wish it would be better when the boss cooked.I don't recommend to dine here !! continue reading

Claypot chicken rice is one of my favourite chinese food.I believe no one actually can resists the hot and still sizzling claypot chicken rice went it arrived in front of you with a old chinese style claypot.I take away this claypot chicken rice because i don't really have much time to dine in.They are not allowed you to bring back the claypot so here this is the claypot chicken rice in plastis. The rice is too wet and taste too soft although it's wet because of the sauce.I prefer a dry claypot chicken rice. The chicken is tender but too little piece. The claypot chicken rice no salted fish and the chinese sausage is too little. The taste is quite ok but not really a good one. continue reading
