Kikyo Jen's attraction: All-you-can-eat weekday lunches & dinners that currently cost RM39.90+, a fair price but not a steal, considering what's served. The selection comprises some 80 choices, mainly stomach-stuffers. Sashimi is restricted to salmon & albacore (though tuna is sometimes available), not too generously portioned, basically of regular buffet standards.Highlights of the maki section: Spider rolls & spicy ebi, competently executed.Shishamo's a safe bet here, addictively fried or acceptably grilled.Shriveled salmon & mussels? Edible, but not exactly a happy sight.Tempura's well-prepared though, crunchy-juicy & not crazy-oily.Battered dishes dominate, from chikuwa to calamari, small shrimp to big ones. Skip the tofu; it's pretty pointless. Note that Kikyo Jen is expected to boost this menu to a hundred items in June; prices will likely change accordingly. continue reading

Came here once on the recommendation of my partner. Parking here is horrible as there is limited parking only and there were quite a number of restaurants and offices in the vicinity making it a headache to look for parking spots. Some cars even double park and this makes the road more narrow. The restaurant has a weird smell which reminds me of old bleached wood but you'll get used to the smell once you settle down. I'll recommend you try the black sesame ice-cream here which is quite good and smooth too. continue reading

I like to eat at here. Because the japanese a la carte buffet they offered here is quite good. I can choose to eat ramen, rice, lots of sashimi and more. One thing I don't really like here is the moment I stepped in the restaurant, I smell something funny. I don't really like the smell. I wish to stay long. One thing I like the most is their black sesame ice cream. They are taste very delicious and you can request for another. continue reading

A friend of mine told me that this place serves one of the best japanese buffet and I was told that the buffet style here is different from the other buffet restaurants. here you can order as much as you can from the menu but do take note that they would charge you extra for any wastage. The chef told us that the ice-cream sold was handmade and he recommended the black sesame and wasabi ice-cream. I went for the black sesame ice-cream as I did not like the taste of wasabi. The ice-cream was smooth and you can still chew bits of black sesame seeds in the ice-cream. The ice-cream was not overly sweet but it melts fairly quickly in my opinion. continue reading
