Mulukhiyah At first glance, this dish really looks like some kind of curry stew recipe. It comes with loads of potato cubes-my favorite, alongside some other many vegetables that include Lady’s fingers and some chickpeas, if I am not mistaken. That said, it has a pretty mucilaginous broth after cooked, that reminds me of the dahl gravy for roti canai lol The stew is decently savory with some fragrance from their spices and the slimy texture is due to the added okra. It still makes a ...

Mango Juice At Hadramawt restaurant, they do offer an array of good beverage to complement your meal. Besides their very own traditional drink, they do offer fusion like the Mango Juice to help spice up your dining experience should you prefer something more familiar. Not too bad as the fruit juice is made just nice and not too sweet. It has the refreshing mango taste that helps to clear your throat especially after some chargrilled meaty feast.

Lentil Soup Instead of the usual soup like mushroom, seafood chowder et cetera, perhaps you could give lentil soup a try. I know it sounds bit unconventional, but this Middle Eastern traditional soup is actually very healthy. It is suitable for vegetarian if meat could be spared away. This slightly thick and savory soup is cooked with varieties of lentils like green, brown, yellow or even black. The soup would be much thicker if the red and yellow lentils get disintegrate while cooking. ...

Dates Fattah In conjunction of the Ramadhan month, there seems to be influx of varieties of dates at almost every eatery that caters for breaking fast buffet. Here at Hadramawt, we have the Dates Fattah, to entertain the guests in between while enjoying the other savory dishes. It is uncommon to see so many types of dates to be served at the same time, but only during this holly month that we get to taste and distinguish each of its uniqueness and sweetness respectively. I guess now...

Tabbouleh This is one delicacy that I really stands out in this cuisine which I truly enjoy. It resembles the mint sauce that usually comes with lamb steak. Nevertheless, this Tabbouleh does delight diner in its very own way. This fare is commonly seen as mezze before the feasting of main meals. This Levantine Arab salad is quite piquant but refreshing! It is traditionally made of of bulgur, tomatoes, cucumbers, finely chopped parsley, mint, onion, and garlic and seasoned with olive...

Eran Yogurt Guess I have added yet another new menu into my gastronomy encyclopedia. Am tempted earlier by the silkiness of the white Eran Yoghurt, which I mistakenly thought is milk pudding instead. Anyway, you can pick this choice under their fresh juices category-but does it look like any juice? Hehe. As it is created from the influence of Arabic elements, therefore, the taste is quite unique. It has the sweet and candy-like fragrance, that the aroma is swinging between the...

Baklawa Your Arabic epicurean wouldn’t be complete without this signature dessert, Baklawa. It is known to be very sweet but crispy on the outside. Wrapped with phyllo-like pastry skin that are very thin and thus crispy, it is quite an alluring fare albeit a tad sinful. The exterior skin has been caramelized and then wrapping the filling that consists of varieties of nuts like crunched pistachios, almonds and many more. Definitely gonna be real candylicious, so do go moderate with it ...

Greek Salad I actually never expect to find this appetizer over here at Arabic Restaurant, but it is pretty good! lol Mixed at the large white plate is a combination of many healthy green cubes. You would find diced tomatoes, cucumbers, slices of olives and even cubes of white cheese! That sounds so great to any cheese aficionado dining at this Arabic restaurant. When eaten together, these morsels of vegetables are very crunchy and refreshing indeed. The specialty lies in the dre...

Hummus Among the tempting cuisine that you could start off is the hummus. This is one type of cold appetizer that our Arabian friend would start off first before the main dishes. It is dip made of mashed chickpeas and tahini paste that are often mixed with olive oil, lemon juice, salt and garlic. It is usually spread on the plate with some cucumbers and a few companies of the fresh olives, for the ease to spread it on the pita bread. The texture is a bit sandy without much strong taste....
