Foodtique's one of the most eye-pleasing new eateries to populate Telawi this yearsome folks might insist that only the taste of food should matter at a restaurant, but that's a sad repudiation of the importance of sight & our other senses in creating a well-rounded experience.Luscious, crispy-skin goose, gorgeously roasted & dripping in savory juices, RM75 for a substantial cross-section of dark meat. Foodtique is run by the folks behind Empire Gallery's Four Seasons, so there's lots of fowl play here, from aromatic duck to steamed chicken.Foodtique is a no-pork outlet; some people will whine about the absence of siu yok & char siu, but it's still reassuring to welcome a new Chinese outlet to this neighborhood following the recent demise of Bangsar Village's Reunion. Wine is expected to be offered eventually. Foodtique kowtows to fusion flavors here & there; this fried rice with foie gras, smoked duck & tobiko flying fish roe (RM20) is fairly fun. Customers can also sample recipes such as salads of soft-shell crab with avocado or salmon with rocket leaves. continue reading

Roasted Meat (3 Combo) - RM15.90So this is the boyfriend's order at Foodtique! Apparently this was considered 3 combo meal, consisting of Gui Fei chicken and roasted duck meat. When it arrived I could smell the roasted aroma already~ The portion however was actually very small. Wasn't enough for the bf at all lol.The chicken meat was extremely sweet! Great tender meat and exotically juicy flavors. While the duck meat, had a very nice sauce base that complemented the overall meat flavors very well. I wish there was more rice! The soy sauce was quite sweet and there wasn't enough rice to counter all the sweet-ness of the dish haha. continue reading

Reasonably portion, looks delicious and smells not-that-quite-amazing-yet. It also comes with 2 types of chili provided. One of it was green chili with grounded ginger, similar to those from a chicken rice shop. The other was an extremely delicious, sweet, smoked, aromatic and mild chili. This could be one of the best tasting mild chili I've tried. The fried rice looked clean and wasn't very oily. It was also pretty light as you require the chili to boost its flavour. Salted fish was not as intense as some others I've tried. Portion wise, good enough for a meal but should be pretty normal to a girl. continue reading
