I intended to go to Fat Spoon, where I wanted to try the mains but since our car happened to be parked a bit further away but near Dai Ban Noodles whose name sounded Japanese. When I went nearer to Dai Ban, I noticed that it is actually a Chinese cafe selling affordably priced food. My friend ordered Dai Ban Assam Laksa (RM 8.90) which came in a big portion, probably according to its RM 8.90 price. The laksa was not bad but it is not as sour and spicy as the Penang laksa but eatable. The best part is that there are a lot of vegetables and ingredients which is my favourite part of the laksa. I ordered the Chelsea Noodles which came with smoked duck with very crispy skin. The skin of the duck was so crispy that I was tempted to eat it. The texture of the duck was incredible and the taste slightly salty, better than the normal duck at the duck rice shop. The price of RM 7.50 for both is very worth it. The noodles, was just plain instant noodle type, and did not live up to its unique name. I think it was just given this unique name to disguise the normalness of the noodles. I ordered the warm Herbal Loh Han Kuo (RM 1.50) which was quite tasty and not as sweet as the ones sold usually by other cafes. I particularly like the walls which were painted with egg, onions. and some creative words.  continue reading

Dai Ban Noodle not just noodles, but many of the rest of the noodles as well as rice and burgers. They take pride in the fresh ingredients and the preparation of the ingredients and dishes. If you ever decided to drop by Dai Ban Noodles Restaurant to dine, do remember to order a plate of smoked duck (cost around RM9.00). The duck was smoked to perfection and seasoning was done just right. Some smoked duck tends to be too salty but this one definitely have no such issue. continue reading

DaiBan Pork Burger did not fall short from their pork chop rice. The pork patty is amazingly spiced and each patty is minced not with any machine or meat grinder but with the traditional method of the skillful cook. The texture is pretty solid, nothing too loose and the bun is superbly fluffy and soft. The cheese and vegetables alongside the sauces gives the moist on top of the juicy patty. The wedges are crispy on the outside and not greasy as well. The beverages are also something they are entitled to be swollen with pride. Using fresh fruit with no artificial preservatives or concentrated juice, their juices are also one that is worth admiring. With lots of passion fruit in most of their mixes, instant perk of blasting flavours comes from the strike of sour with the immense fragrance from the passion fruit.I can’t disagree to the Teh and Kopi Ais but I wouldn’t acknowledge them as the best. One thing for sure that is the quality is at its best. continue reading
