I used to hate eating Yam Rice because I've eaten the BF's mom Yam Rice twice and her yam rice is the worst in the world: mushy, plain, yucky and boring. My perception of yam rice changed after trying BM Yam Rice's dry and each rice grain is on its own with many dried shrimp and fried garlic. It's quite economic too, if you're feeling icky and wanted to have something 'light' just order a bowl of rice (RM2) and a bowl of tofu pok (RM1.4). Or add an egg (RM1.2). Or you can go for the set with lots of side choices like innards and lobak (pork roll) that comes with a bowl of soup, tofu and egg and a bowl of rice.
Their chili sauce is nice too! You will get different chili sauce depending of what you ordered. Sometimes I get chili with a big drop of kicap manis (thick soy sauce) and sometimes I get watery kinda of chili.MSG level is medium low.
