We have never met for so long because I was always so busy with work to meet up. We even set up a whatsapp group just for dinner tonight! I was glad my BFF suggested this place as I have never been here. This place is great for night outings and for BFF hangouts or any other hangout especially at night. The ambience is just wonderful. The colourful lights are incredible and the benches here and there really fantastic. We walked around the place in search for food even though we have already searched through blogs and google in the afternoon. At last, we decided on the place that we got a brochure, Den Den since the Lunch Set is also available on the weekend. Every set comes with a chawanmushi, miso soup, a slice of watermelon, rice. My friend ordered the Tempura Set. The tempura did not look crispy enough. To me, the Miso Soup was too thick and also too salty. Not really to my liking. It was the first time we tried such watery Chawanmushi. Perhaps this cafe lacks the skill in making this. The watermelon was not that sweet and a bit sandy. I ordered the Curry Udon Set (RM 23) which came with all of the above except the miso soup since I have soup inside. The curry did not taste like real curry but more like chilli paste with a lot of sesame sauce that made it really sticky. Luckily, the noodles was not too thick but the bad point is that it is a bit soggy and kind of stuck with the soup. There were 2 big prawns that were thankfully fresh. My friend ordered the Sashimi Mix bento that consisted of Maguro, White sashimi and also salmon and fish roe which all looked so fresh. I would have ordered this if I did not eat rice at night as a practice.  continue reading

Bistro Den Den, a Japanese restaurant with international influences peppering its menu, blessed with an abundance of natural sunshine & warm service.Keeping things light & healthy here with fresh/refreshing spring rolls, stuffed with salmon, shrimp, cellophane noodles & Jew's ear edible fungus (RM25).Comfort-food tartare of salmon, avocado & scallop layers with creamy wasabi sauce. RM25.Don't leave without having this cheese platter; the cream cheese & camembert might be typical, but the surprise is the orange-hued mimolette, the now-notorious, mite-burrowed French cheese that's banned in the U.S. but mercifully still found in outlets like Den Den & KL Hilton's Graze. Wine is available by the glass & carafe, but strangely, not sake, not so far. continue reading
