The F&B industry, in general, seems to have slowed down a lot in the month of July, due to the residual impact of GST and the fasting month of Ramadhan. However, there are still a few new cafés and restaurants with interesting concepts that worth paying attention to, such as Le Pont Boulangerie & Café, which is a huge café with 3 storeys, and Greenhouse by Muir, which combines Japanese seafood market with other stores.

Opened its door to the public in May this year, Cubs & Cups is a hot and new pet-friendly café founded by a group of young Korean expatriates who loves pets. They bring their own pets, including a Husky, a Malamute puppy, and a Pomeranian puppy, to work every day. The dogs and puppies are so cute that they have unexpectedly become one of the main attractions of this café in KL. Pet owners are welcome to bring their pets to this café to enjoy some comfort foods and make some new friends with other pet lovers.
Pork lovers rejoice! Now you can tantalize your taste-buds with a delicious array of Western style pork dishes at this hidden gem located at Lorong Kurau. Many patrons visit this Western restaurant in KL for brunch, which is available for the whole day. Aside from brunch, they also offer plenty of porkilicious mains. Signature dishes would be the Roasted Pork Belly, which is roasted to perfection with super crispy skin, and BBQ Sticky Pork Ribs, which is slowly cooked until the meat is tender and rich in BBQ sauce flavors.

Marugame Udon is the largest udon chain restaurant in Japan with more than 800 outlets across the whole Japan. Now, they have finally made their debut in KL with 2 outlets at Sunway Putra Mall and at Setia City Mall. They adopt a self-service ordering system, whereby customers can place their orders at the open kitchen, and the staff will prepare the food on the spot. Currently, 8 different types of udon are available on the menu. Apart from udon, they also offer a delicious array of tempura that goes well with the udon.
Upon arriving at this new shop, you will be amazed by Le Pont’s massive 3-storey building. The concept of this café in KL is pretty special, as it is a combination of bakery and restaurant. Step in the eatery, and you’ll be warmly greeted by a wide range of freshly baked French bakeries and pastries. The dining area is located on the 2nd and 3rd floor, where customers can whet their appetite with a good selection of Western Cuisine, including breakfasts, salads, sandwiches, mains and pastas.
Situated right beside Gleneagles Hospital, Greenhouse by Muir is a stylish and unique restaurant combining several shops, including florist, café, bakery and Japanese seafood market, under the same roof. The Japanese seafood market seems to be the main attraction here. Customers get to choose any fresh sashimi or cooked dishes at the counters and pay at the cashier. It is a new and fun dining experience indeed!
A new and popular café in town that offers a complete selection of freshly baked pastries and Western dishes. The café in KL is operated by the same team behind Mezze Restaurant; hence, customers can be rest assured that the quality of food and service here is of top quality.
