Tai Tao Steamboat
Tai Tao, a popular steamboat restaurant at Bandar Menjalara Kepong, has launched three new and unique a-la-carte dishes for steamboat!
OpenRice members were proud to be the first batch of “foodies” to try the new dishes! 20 lucky OpenRicers were invited to the restaurant on 10th July to enjoy a sumptuous meal of steamboat
Since its opening in 2004, Tai Tao Steamboat has become a popular place for steamboat lovers to enjoy fresh and delicious steamboat with families and friends.

When all members had arrived, we played our signature ice-breaking game by having three members try a mystery soup with their eyes covered with sleeping masks!
After trying the soup, they were asked to write down what they felt about the taste of the soup and shared their food experience with all participants. The best food reviewer was rewarded with a restaurant food voucher!
We began our food tasting with the restaurant’s signature steamboat set consisting of fresh prawn, fish fillet, squid, fish fillet, fish noodles, fish paste, fish ball, bean curd, fried tofu skin, black fungus, vegetables, etc.

While waiting for the fresh ingredients to be cooked, three new a la carte dishes were served, including Drunken Prawn, Fish Slices with Sliced Garlic, and Kung Pao Frog.
The new a la carte dishes can be added to soup to enhance the taste of steamboat! Pour a bowl of drunken prawn with Chinese wine into the steamboat to change the whole soup base into drunken prawn soup in an instant!
You can add the a la carte dishes into the soup anytime you like to enjoy your favourite steamboat to the fullest!

After enjoying the delicious steamboat, the restaurant’s owner, Tai Tao, came to our tables to share with us the ingredients that were used to create the new and delicious a la carte dishes.
