Eastern Crab
We enjoyed a sumptuous spread of exotic seafood at Eastern Crab at Plaza Ampang City along Jalan Ampang on 5th of June with more than 20 invited OpenRice members!

Two large round tables were reserved for us. We had old members joining us for the second or third time as well as new faces who participated in the event for the first time..
Before the food tasting began, our MC gave all participants a brief intro to the objective of MakanVenture and the background of our website, OpenRice.
We host weekly food tasting to gather OpenRice members to try new and interesting food in Klang Valley to encourage our members to share and write more food reviews as well as meeting new friends who share the same interest of Makan!
To break the ice, we played a fun game to experience the joy of sharing food reviews. Three participants were chosen and asked to cover their eyes while trying a mystery food. This time we had three courageous female participants!
After trying the food, they were required to write down what they felt about the food on a white board, and shared their views with others in public. The best reviewer who got the highest number of votes won a restaurant voucher as reward!
Mouth-watering seafood dishes were served immediately after the ice-breaking game. We had the signature Hong Kong Typhoon Shelter Fried Crab andSpicyChili Crab that are prepared using XXL sized mud crabs from Sri Lanka.
Also delicious are Steamed Chinese Pomfret, Salted Egg Sea Prawn, Seafood Hot Pot and Shark’s Fin Soup..

We finished off the awesome meal with Eastern Crab’s popular fruit dessert, Fresh Mango Cream with Pamelo.
Before leaving after having the satisfying meal, we had a group picture with the restaurant’s owner and his crew to mark the end of another successful MakanVenture food tasting.
