Anggrek Kuring

We had a fun and exotic culinary journey to Anggrek Kuring at Bandar Puteri Puchong to try delicious and authentic Indonesian cuisine on 13 March. 10 lucky OpenRicers (OpenRice members) were selected to join the FREE food tasting session.

The restaurant had reserved a round table for us at a spacious VIP room decorated with Sudanese items, such as furniture and tableware made of bamboo.

There was a heavy rain that night, yet most OpenRicers managed to show up on time.

We were served with aromatic rice and seven unique Indonesian dishes. The star of the day was of course the Ikan Berdiri (Standing Fish) with salted egg sauce. The crispy fried fish matched very well with the creamy and salty sauce. Another highlight was the Ayam Presto, which was cooked for 6 hours until both the meat and bone were soft and edible!

The restaurant’s owner appeared to greet the participants and introduced what is special about each dish.

One of our featured OpenRicers in March, mokkymok, joined MakanVenture event for the third time. She is very impressed and satisfied with the quality of food in past events. She also finds OpenRice to be very useful in searching for restaurants in an area that she is not so familiar with.

Albert, who joined MakanVenture for the first time, is working in F&B business. He was surprised when he knew that his restaurant is also listed on OpenRice website. He sees the potential to work with OpenRice to enhance the brand awareness of his restaurant.

To wrap up the event, we had a Q&A session to give away free gifts and restaurant vouchers.
