The orange juice in Meatworks tasted like it was poured out from a bottle of Minute Maid. It was definitely not fresh orange, although there was pulp in the drink. They also put too much ice in the glass, which diluted the drink a lot. There were hardly any orange taste actually. A wedge of orange adorned the glass, which was a nice touch. Priced at RM9.80 per glass, it was slightly expensive.

The silver cod in Meatworks is just mediocre in my opinion. The fish was well cooked, but it has a strong fishy smell. It was served on a bed of mashed potatoes together with some French beans and olives. The strange thing is, they put some mint sauce on the plate to accompany the fish, so I thought that was weird. Made the fish taste weird too. There was a small bowl of greens on the side. Priced at RM45, I thought it was a bit expensive, but I guess cod is an expensive fish, so the price could be justified.

We asked for the Sirloin steak to be cooked medium well, but when it came, it was cooked well done, so the piece of meat was a bit too chewy and hard for my taste. Served on some mashed potatoes and French beans, it was a nice presentation. Half a corn cob and a small bowl of brown gravy completes the set. Overall, I think it is just so-so. Probably better to order the ribeye instead.

The baby salad leaves in Meatworks is not baby at all to me, seems more like adult leaves. Probably they meant baby portion? Anyhow, the leaves were quite large, hence contradicting the dish’s name of baby salad leaves. Topped with some julienned carrots, onions, olives and halved cherry tomatoes, I thought it was quite dry, as there were no accompanying sauce. So-so only in my opinion.

Another starter that was ordered is the salmon salad. As it is a starter, it is served among the earliest. It comes with a huge amount of lettuce, huge slices of tomatoes, olives, huge chunks of cheese and of course the salmon. The salmon served is raw salmon, but it was nicely marinated.

The salad is dressed with french dressing, which makes it a little sour, but it is delicious. The cheese gives the dish a nice taste, as it has a strong smell. It goes very well with all other vegetables especially the salmon.
