Char Siew Bao Smile Jul 18, 2012   (Related Review)

There were quite a number of different dim sums to choose from ranging from the ones that are fried, steamed and soupy foods.

Char Siew Bao (叉烧包) or barbecued pork bun is the must try dish at Maxim Dim Sum Restaurant. It was yummy and awesome especially while it was served hot. The taste wasn't too sweet or too greasy, the lean pork meat with minimal lard of its lavishing filling was chunky and fresh. The bun was so soft like baby skin too. I love it.

The Baked Chicken Chop with Homemade Mushroom Sauce came with special price of RM20 with complementary of one fresh fruit juice. The marinated chicken chop meat was tender and absorbed well the homemade mushroom sauce. Baked baby potatoes and stir fried mix vegetables were served as side dish. Chillies powder was being sprinkled on top of the chicken chop for some hot and spicy taste.

Fried prawn wanton Smile Jul 18, 2012   (Related Review)

No one can resist this crispy appetizer or dim sum with the juicy shrimps and minced meat wrapped with the crispy wonton wrappers. The wontons are being deep-fried in batches until golden brown giving it a crispy texture.

This dim sum is very tempting with the equal brown color of each fried prawn wontons. Dipped with mayonnaise or sweet chilli sauce if desired for a sweet sour taste, or a spicy taste.

'Cucur udang' or 'Hae Jie' is also known as fried prawn fritters. This deep fried prawn with the prawn shell still intact give taste fabulous with crispy on the outside and filling on the inside. Scallions are being chopped finely and mixed into the fried ingredients with bring great aroma for the fritters. Cucur Udang can be eaten on its own or dipping it with sweet chili sauce.

Penang Char Koay Teow Smile Jul 18, 2012

Penang Char Koay Teow - RM4.50

The Char Kuew Teow here is delicious even without huge prawns. It consists of generous amount of flat rice noodles stir fried in a hot cast iron wok hence it has a lot of 'Wok Hei'. It is aromatised with garlic in lard oil, crisp juicy bean sprouts and and slices of "Lap Cheong" slices. "Lap Cheong" is a dried, hard and sweet Chinese wax sausage usually made from pork.
