Sloppy Burger! OK Feb 20, 2013
Categories : Restaurant | Bar & Pub

It was a day trip around town with a friend. After walking what seemed like forever looking for a BKT place, we gave up and entered this restaurant.

The concept is based on the typical American diners that you see in films. The environment was comfortable and the service was pleasant.

I had a tough time deciding what to eat. It was either the pasta or the burger. Luckily I had the latter since one of the pastas which a friend ordered was SO spicy. So, beware all of you!

I ordered a Sloppy Burger and it was beautifully done. For the price I paid, it was an okay experience.

Pan Mee! Smile Feb 20, 2013

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood | Noodles

I was waiting for a friend and decided to try something around the area. Since Andes BYO was not yet open, the next best thing was Cha Cha Pan Mee.

A friend recommended this restaurant and it was definitely a good call.

What was really memorable were the noodles. It's been a while since I had pan mee so elastic that it literally bounces off my teeth with each chew. The best part is, it does not get stuck between my teeth!

To top it off, besides the noodles, I was most impressed with the variety of condiments they had. As a spicy food lover, chili is mandatory when I eat. This restaurant definitely lived up to my expectations.

Definitely worth a revisit if I am around the area!

Beef ball noodles! Smile Feb 20, 2013

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles

My first visit was as a kid some 20 years ago. The restaurant was run down and the environment was definitely somewhere you would NOT bring someone for a first date tongue

But years later, renovation took place and all is good! True to its legacy, the noodles, beef balls and chili were amazing. The service was super efficient and the environment is well ventilated. Definitely a place to bring someone after a long day walking around town lol

Steamboat + Grill! Smile Feb 20, 2013
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Buffet | Steamboat/Hotpot | BBQ

This is by far one of my favourite steamboat buffet restaurants. It's hard these days to find a steamboat place WITH the grill plate. Given that I enjoy grilling my own food while digesting what I just ate, this is definitely the first place that comes to mind during a rainy evening! smile

The price is affordable and the variety is not too bad though at times I wish they would be more innovative given the increasingly stiff competition. What's available includes a marinated beef, pork, chicken and lamb. There are lots finger foods like fishballs and the like. Common vegetables are available though my personal favourite is the broccoli - something available on certain days!

Overall, the service is good but during peak hours, attention may be divided.

This is definitely a place to eat with a huge group of friends who enjoy cooking their own food, chatting and chilling during the rainy weather!

Bird Man! Smile Feb 20, 2013

The restaurant was very Japanese lounge-like. Comfortable seats and pleasant environment. The food was definitely value for money given the generous portion served.

I had the Japanese styled Fried Pork Ribs and it was an interesting fusion dish. My friend had the carbonara pasta which was quite a surprise given the ingredients used.

Overall, the service was efficient and the experience was memorable.
