Go Noodle House, one of the restaurant that serve good quality noodle at Publika, they offer you a really good bowl of noodle at affordable price, without sacrifice the taste of the noodle.

You will be greeted with authentic Chinese decorations the moment you step into the shop. From the wooden furniture, the red lantern, the brick wall and even the dress code of their waiters, everything is almost the same as what we can see from traditional chinese drama. It gives you a delusion as if you are back to hundred years ago, where everything is old but nostalgia! Here’s a little sneak peek of their menu. Besides main dishes, you can choose different kind of side dishes as well, ranging from pork ball, fish ball, fish paste and etc. The varieties of side dishes will definitely satisfy your picky taste bud.

Trio special dark sauce noodle, which is also one of their signature noodles, comes together with black fungus, fried anchovies, minced pork, fried shallot and complementary bowl of soup. For the noodles, you can actually choose from thick noodles, thin noodles and pinched noodles according to your liking.

Their dark sauce noodle tastes average, springy noodles pair together with the crunchiness of black fungus and fried anchovies, nothing really surprise me but the texture of the noodles considers quite good.

What I would like to recommend is their Superior soup pan mee, which is really surpass my expectation! The rich broth simmers with fresh fish and pork meat completely stole my heart away. Simmer with fresh ingredients the broth brings the freshness of the dish to the next level; I ensure that in the end you will finish the whole bowl of soup irresistibly.

I’m not the soup-based mee kind of person because most of the soup mee goes very tasteless, but this Superior soup pan mee is super savory and aromatic! The chewy noodles absorb the soup and make me can’t stop after having first mouth! It just slurps into my mouth smoothly and I was like “omg how can this tastes so good!”

Overall, if you are looking for a good bowl of noodles to cure your hungry tummy, head over to Go Noodle House, they have few branches located at klang valley too!

Nowadays café culture is flourishing rapidly and Leaf & Bean is one of the cafes that you couldn’t afford to miss out in Cheras area. Even though Leaf & Bean is just a small shop but it is super cozy. When you are waiting for your meal to be served, remember to take a look at their unique decorations at every corner. You’ll be able to find a small couch and magazines at the café, definitely an ideal place for you to have cuppa of coffee and unwind yourself!

This was my second visit to this café and I found out that there are a lot of students occupied there. You have to place your order and pay your bill at the counter, after that, just sit back and wait for your food to be served!

Leaf & Bean pays a lot of attention to every small details, for example their menu, which I really love it so much. Instead of using pictures to display their food, they use drawing and doodle to sketch out the food, it gives you a kind of “ zakka” feel and I’m awed by their creativity.

I went for one of their breakfast set and by paying extra Rm4, I got to enjoy their cappuccino. The temperature of the cappuccino is just right, you can slurp it smoothly once it’s served to ensure the taste is sustained.
One of their breakfast set

One of their breakfast set

This breakfast set consists of toast with ham and cheese, baked beans, scramble eggs and salad. The toast tastes quite good, nothing can go wrong with cheese right? It might look small but the toast is enough to make you feel stuffed. Simple but fulfilling. However, their scramble eggs are a bit too dry to my liking.
Worth a try!

Worth a try!

This Japanese curry is the boom! Came together with salad, carrot cubes, potato cubes and chicken cutlet. The portion is really huge! I’m impressed by their Japanese curry sauce given that it’s not a Japanese restaurant but the taste is quite authentic. Besides, I bet they simmer their carrot cubes for quite a long time because it tastes like mashed carrot, it literally just melts in your mouth! I love how soft and moist their carrot cubes are!

On a side note, I would recommend you to try their pearl milk tea. We can rarely see café that serve milk tea but their milk tea has got the kick! Milky tea matches with chewy pearl, perfect!

Li restaurant, hidden among the shops besides Atria Mall at Damansara Jaya, a newly opened café owned by a group of passionate youngsters that serve quality dishes.

You can hardly notice this restaurant as they only have a small sigh board on their storefront. Upon entering, you will be greeted by their minimalistic decorations, mainly black and white in color. Everything is simple but nice. This brightly-lit restaurant has huge windows that allow you to enjoy natural lighting while dining, which is suitable for working purpose as well.I love how simple their menu is. Nothing fancy but clearly describe every dishes. They serve special lunch set from 12pm to 230 pm, you can get their daily specials, a dessert and a house drink at RM16.90. The price is pretty affordable!

Their daily specials, the hakka-inspired pasta with slow cooked pork. Drizzle with sesame oil, comes with scallion, cured egg yolk and homemade pickled chilies. Though it’s pasta but it’s more like a fusion of western dish and eastern dish. You can rarely find pasta serves with scallion and pickled chilies but they mix them together creatively.

The pasta is good, pickled chilies make it taste extra flavorful. The shredded pock meats are very tender and juicy as well.

This pork toast is definitely their highlight. It’s serves with sesame seed, chili mayo and cilantro. They made their own toast and the brownish color toast is super crispy. The pork is slightly moist and it matches perfectly with the crunchy toast. With chili mayo as the dressing, this pork toast hit us with a bang after the first bite. The fragrance of the pork meat will linger in your mouth and makes you crave for more.

This is their off-menu dish; gemelli (spiral pasta) serves with mushroom vegetable ragout, sourdough crumbs and onsen egg. The texture of the gemelli is good and chewy; it has stronger flavor compares to the previous pasta. Remember to ask for their hidden menu and be awed by their secret dishes.

Lychee dessert that comes together with their lunch set. Coconut milk drizzles on the shave ice, comes with meringue and lime granita. The combination is unique but the taste of lime granita has overpowered the lychee. Refreshing but it’s a bit too sour for my liking.

They serve good coffee as well. Pretty coffee art and the aromatic coffee give you the optimum pleasure while drinking.

The choices of their dishes are limited as the restaurant is opened not long ago. However, they will be slowing expanding their menu in future to bring you more surprise. Enjoy your afternoon here with their unique dishes, with soft music playing on the background; it’s indeed a pure indulgence.

Pan Mee lover alert! Smile May 05, 2016

Madam Chiam Curry Noodle House or what we often call Mei Yee Pan Mee is my frequent lunch spot at Cheras Area. The curry noodle house has opened for more than 10 years since 2004 and has stolen away the heart of many Pan Mee lovers. They have moved from the old shop houses to a new shop just right besides the old shop, which is more spacious. Do expect huge crowd of customers during lunch hour and sometimes you might need to mix table with other customers!

Alright, let’s back to the food! Even though the shop is named after curry noodle but the signature dish would be their dry chili pan mee.

Springy noodles come with fried shallots, minced pork, lime, ikan bilis and onsen egg. The highlight of the dish is their homemade chili pastes, which is a MUST for the dry noodle. You will get served with one small plate of chili pastes and just add according to the spiciness you want.

Squeeze the lime juice into your noodles, add in enough amount of chili pastes, lastly, mix everything together and now you’ll be able to enjoy your noodle. Don’t have to worry about the alkaline taste of noodle as they make their own noodles, so you can hardly find the same taste from other places.

The noodle has really good texture, springy and chewy, with a hint of sourness and subtly spiciness; everything is a win element for a bowl of good chili pan mee.

Other than dry chili pan mee, you can give a try to their dry yee mee as well. Comes with the same toppings of chili pan mee, they replace the pan mee with yee mee, which give your taste bud different kind of satisfaction! The dry curry chicken pan mee is also another of their selling point!

Every dish comes with a complementary soup cooked with baby spinach leaves.

Some tips for people who don’t eat ikan bilis, you can request them to leave out ikan bilis on your dish, and they will add on two fish balls or meat balls in your soup!

What’cha waiting for? Grab your bowl of dry pee mee right now!

We always refer Kajang as Satay town where the signature dishes of this small town. Besides satay, there's actually many hidden delicacies which is only well-known among the locals. I used to study at Kajang and today I would like to share about one of my favourite restaurants there.

Tien Pin restaurant, located at Jalan Bukit near NEC college, offer you a wide range of food made from fish, such as fish ball, fish paste and fish noodles. Moreover, they serve main dishes such as mee pok and desserts such as cold tau fu fa, rice dumplings and tong shui.

I love love love their fried chee cheong fan and fish noodles, you can hardly find this kind of combination at other places. The chee cheong fan which we usually have them for breakfast, is fried together with fish noodles, beansprouts and generous amount of pork lard.

The fish noodles are really chewy and bouncy, pair with chee cheong fan it offers you an unique combination, the pork lard makes the dish extra flavourful and aromatic.

Their signature mee pok, Tien Pin Mee Pok. Serve along with pork lard, minced pork and a bowl of their soup with fish pastes. Their fish pastes worth a try because it tastes so fresh.

Wash it down the main dishes with cold tau fu fa serves with brown sugar. Super refreshing!
