lots of yummy options! Smile Aug 09, 2014

Categories : Chinese | Food court | Noodles

I practically have my dinner here at least once or twice a week. Working nights there aren't many variety or options out there but at Ming Tien at least am able to change around what I eat. They are open from 7am to 4am if I am not mistaken. Cleanliness is just so so like all massive food courts. Service is hit and miss. Sometimes its hard to get hold of the drinks waiters.

Good options to choose from would be the Bah Kut Teh (dry is the best), Vietnamese Rolls, Taiwan Sausage (spicy & bbq is my fav!), Claypot Chicken Rice, Pork Noodles, Sarawak Ko;ok Mee, Grill Fish, Shark Fin Soup (fake fins btw!), Osama Naan, Tandoori Chicken& for dessert the Apom stall which sadly is sold out by 10pm. As you can see I have eaten in almost all the stalls there.

Overall still a great place for a quick, cheap & quality meal.

decent Kelantan fare... OK Aug 09, 2014

My go to joint whenever I have a Kelantan meal fix. It is a 24 by 7 restaurant chain which serves up a decent fare. Simple decor with tables spaced out nicely. Able to cater quite a number of customers. Outlet has an open concept so it is nice and airy. Service is pretty quick & prices are reasonable.

The nasi kerabu is very good especially with the daging bakar special. Fresh vegetables, yummy gravy, salted egg & the awesome cili sambal. The nasi lemak kukus is also pretty decent. The ayam percik is also worth a try. Much better than the ones you get at pasar malams.

Being a 24 by 7 outlet there are various items on the menu to cater to all. From just a snack to a light meal or something heavy. Rice, bread, noodles, desserts & all sorts of drinks. Worth a visit.

best Taiwanese tea chain... Smile Aug 09, 2014

Gong Cha can be found in most malls around Klang Valley. When it comes to the Taiwanese tea craze I would rate this chain as the best. Beats Chatime or Ochado hands down. Similar selections like the others however the tea & toppings taste so much better. Also have to note they do provide one of the better services around. They give recommendations & always service with a smile.

a good Italian meal... OK Aug 08, 2014

La Risata has been around for quite awhile offering good Italian dishes. The overall deco of this place is casual & warm. Great for group gatherings or even a romantic night out. As you walk in you get the appetising aromas of wood fired pizzas. Only downside would be the parking which can be a pain.
When it comes to the food I have tried quite a few dishes so far. Starting the meal with the complimentary olive tapenade with freshly baked fluffy bread which is so addictive. Yummy appetisers would be the Antipasti Misti (grilled mushroom, fried calamari rings, beef carpaccio, garlic crostini w/ chicken liver pate) & Gnocchi Al Gameberi. For mains try the Pappardelle Al Ragu D’Agnello, Gnocchi Al Peperonchini Grillia E Chorizo & Ravioli di Frutti di Mare. Or if you have a hankering for steak their Grilled US Angus grain fed tenderloin is pretty decent.
However avoid the Risotto Nero Di Seppia which was too wet for my liking & the Spaghetti Alla Risata which was just too salty. Unfortunately have not tried any desserts. Am always too full after the mains. Heard the panna cotta & Sicilian Bombe are good. As for drinks they have interesting cocktails, a decent sangria & a good wine list. Their coffee is not bad as well to cap the night.
Service is a hit & a miss. When busy it would be hard to get the waiters attention & food might arrive late. However on normal occasions they are okay. Nothing that would stop you from frequenting this place.

disappointing... Cry Aug 08, 2014

This place has been around for quite some time. When they first opened years ago it was pretty decent but sadly it has gone downhill. Service is slow & the waiters can barely understand you. The food is pretty mediocre which doesn't justify the price. They sell Mille Crepe from Nadeje which is pretty famous however when served usually is pretty dry. Could be how they keep it.
The place itself is nice. Casual deco & airy. Great for hanging out with friends or for a date. Sadly it isn't enough to save this place. Wouldn't recommend at all.
