Pork Vindaloo  Smile Feb 28, 2013

I’m really happy to hear that besides Alt Space, Sid’s Pub at TTDI also one of the few place in town that is dog friendly area. Now you can bring your man best friends to come and together enjoy some nice hearty meal here at Sid’s Pub.

Sid’s Pub decoration and interior is like a typical pub, with the big bar located at the center of the pub.

I proceed to order their Pork Vindaloo (RM 26). Pork Vindaloo is a type of pork curry with some rice and chips. The curry is very fragrant and creamy, it is not too salty and best eaten with rice.

Soi Thai Restaurant is located conveniently inside the Waterfront, Desa Park City on first floor. The restaurant was decorated with some simple and décor that looks very pleasing to the eye.

I started with the famous appetizers in Thailand- Som Tam (aka Green Papaya Salad with Dried Shrimp and Peanuts)! It supposes to have a combination of sour, sweet and spicy all together. But I can only taste sour and just a little hint of spicy in this dish. I will prefer if it they add more spiciness in this dishes. Some dried squid will be best to brings out the natural sweet taste of the salad.

Next, I finished it off with Soi Thai’ signature otak-otak. The otak otak comes in a plate of three pieces and it is steamed before being served to us. I must admit that their otak otak is very rich with their ingredient and it is as smooth as tofu and it melt in the month too! This is definitely must order dish on my next visit!

Soi Thai restaurant in Waterfront, Desa Park City offers many types of Thai dishes until I am having a hard time choosing my dish! So, I ended up order the Soi Thai combo. This combo is best for a blur and indecisive person like me who can enjoy many stuff in one plate! This combo include fish cake, pandan chicken, fish cake, wantan and croquette platter. Among all, I love the fish cake and pandan chicken the most as the meat is really juicy and to my liking. The rest have nothing to shout about.

I finish my meal on that day with Steamed Sweet Banana Topped with Vanila Ice Cream. The banana was not too sweet and it blends really well with the cold ice cream. Love it till last scoop!

I came with a group of friends today so we went for Soi Thai Signature Fire Pot with Seafood Tom Yam. The tom yam is spicy enough for my liking and the ingredients and herbs was very fresh. The soup base is quite spicy to be taken on its own but its perfect with some hot piping white rice.

Next, we had Steamed Siakap with Lime and Chile Sauce which is a nice dish for me. The Fish is good enough for a group of 3 to 4 person. The soup is sour and spicy in taste and coupled with some vege and take it together with the fish, it taste really nice and there’s no fishy smell at all as I think the sour successfully cover the smell. I will definitely order it again!

Tempura rice bowl  Smile Feb 28, 2013   (Related Review)

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant

I’m ordering some Tempura rice bowl set this time. It consist of a Japanese tempura rice bowl with some prawn and vegetable tempura fully cooked till perfection on top of the rice. The prawn is medium in size and although it is fried, it is not too oily and it retained its juiciness as well which really deserves a thumbs up! I really enjoyed the tempura very much as it is not very oily and of course the portion is simply big as usual!
