The restaurant looked like the usual Swensen's restaurant from decorations to menu, except for its name. The restaurant had free wifi connections but was not stable.
What caught my eyes to dine in here was the poster showing All Day Breakfast which served coffee and tea from RM6.90 to RM8.90 nett.

Classic French Toast (RM8.90)
The breakfast came with 4 pieces of toasts.

Big Breakfast (RM8.90)
The breakfast came with a piece of toast, scrambled egg, baked bean, ham and sliced tomato.
The scrambled egg was a bit overcooked. The ham tasted a bit off and there was no the usual meat taste in it.

Laksa Pasta (RM16.90)
The gravy was rich and creamy.

Curry Chicken Baked Rice (RM16.90)
There was no melted cheese. It was more like buttered rice topped with rich and creamy curry chicken.

Hearty Breakfast (RM16.90)
There was scrambled egg, sausage, ham, hash brown, mushroom in cream sauce, tomato, and thick toasts. The sausage, ham and hash brown tasted a bit off.

Cafe Latte (RM8.90)
Smelt a bit weak.
Overall food was reasonable priced.

The restaurant was located in the shopping mall, just across from the checkpoint. The service was great. The staff made sure the table and asked one of us to check the table first before letting the rest of the group in.

Please take note that iced water was chargeable at RM0.90++ per glass. The staffs were friendly and easy to our various requests. We were served with smoky hot wet tissues after our meal.

CHICKEN CAESAR FLATBREAD (RM27.45)
Grilled chopped chicken breast, Italian cheeses, tomato pesto salad, fresh sweet basil and creamy Caesar dressing tossed on a crisp flatbread crust and sprinkled with shaved Asiago cheese.
The flatbread was served on a chopping board, very thin and crispy, overflowing with juicy tomato and chicken cubes.

ROMA'S SAMPLER (RM42.29)
A trio of appetizers – Red Hot Buffalo Wings, Potato Skins and its signature Half Onion Loaf matched with bleu cheese dressing, sour cream and TR's Original™ BBQ sauce.
The bufflao wings were lightly breaded and tossed in Buffalo sauce, served with creamy bleu cheese dressing. The wing was sour and spicy, which balanced with the rich cheesy sauce.
The onion loaf was giant hand-cut Spanish onions, breaded, deep fried and served with TR's Original™ BBQ sauce. It was crispy and caramelised inside.
Crispy potato skins covered with cheese, topped with chives and beef bacon pieces, served with sour cream. I wished there was more cheese on the potato skins.

BEEF RIB SAMPLER (RM74.09)
Slow-cooked meaty, tender and delicious ribs. Hearty ribs with a rich beef flavor. Glazed with TR's Original™ BBQ sauce
The dish was served with 2 sides which we selected coleslaw (I wished it was more sweet although it was crunchy), and loaded mashed potatoes (I felt it was not as cheesy as the version in Singapore). The ribs served were beef instead of the usual pork. The ribs was quite tender and easy to remove from the bones, but I still preferred the pork ribs better.

POTATO SKINS (RM16.85)
Crispy potato skins covered with cheese, topped with chives and beef bacon pieces. Served with sour cream.

BOUNTIFUL BEEF RIBS (RM63.49)
Hearty ribs with a rich beef flavor. Glazed with TR's Original™ BBQ sauce or your choice of sauce.
Served with 2 sides which CORN ON THE COB was selected.

Raspberry Brownie Royale (RM10.49)
Two warm, rich mini cocoa brownies, covered with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzled with raspberry sauce.

Cakes & chocolate Smile Mar 17, 2016

Lavender is a well known bakery chain in Malaysia, with 14 branches in Johor and Kuala Lumpur. One of its nearest branches to Singapore is the one located at City Square. City Square is a popular shopping mall with Singaporean as it is located just across the causeway.

Angel Cake (RM 10.60)
A soft airy chiffon cake, covered lightly with sweet cream and pastry flakes.

Chocolate Ganache (RM 21)
made from 100% Belgium chocolate and fresh cream. Contains no added artifical flavourings and preservatives. Melts smoothly with a rich fruity chocolatey impact.
The chocolate looked quite similar to the well known ROYCE' nama chocolate. Although it was not as good as that, but the price was much much cheaper.

Honey Egg Roll (RM 12.70)
It looked like swiss roll, filled with creamy and nutty filling.

Nama Chocolate (RM 16.90/ 4")
Ultimate Chocolate cake - rich and decadent, made from the finest chocolate, cream and a tad of flour.
It looked quite small, and tasted similar to the Japanese style light and airy cheesecake.

Service was a bit poor because we waited quite awhile to be served even when it was not crowded.

Theme cafe OK Aug 23, 2016

The place was located in the middle of a row of shophouses. It looked simple from outside.

But inside it was very colorful decorated with many cartoons characters around. Don't forget to visit the second floor too. There was also Photo Booth Backdrops and props available too for photo taking.

The menu looked not bad but we were too full, and decided on drinks only.

Plum Green Tea 梅子绿茶 (RM7.90++)

It tasted refreshing sour.

Caramel Milk Tea 焦糖奶茶 (RM7.90++)

Slightly on the sweet side.

Fruity Tea 水果茶 (RM8.90++)

There was cubes of apples in the drink. Refreshing sweet drink.

There is 10% discount when like its Facebook page. The cafe also has free wifi available.

Disappointing Meal Cry Aug 22, 2016
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood | Noodles

The outlet was part of a rather well chain in Malaysia which was known for its chinese style soups.

Do take note that the Guava with Mandarin Peels (RM 3.90++) and wet tissue on the table are chargeable.

Souper Tang Signature Soup 汤师爷招牌参鸡汤 (RM39.90++/ 2 pax)

Requested for the soup to be boiling hot, yet it was served barely warm. Asked to send back. It was served slightly hotter the second time although we suspected that the bowl was microwaved.

The meat looked quite red, with lots of bruised markings around. How to eat?

Pan Fried Eggplant with Scallop in XO Sauce
(RM18.90++)

It had a strong alcohol smell when served. It was a very soupy dish, different from what was shown on menu which had looked rather dry.

Simmered Chinese Spinach with Wolfberry (RM15.90++)

Looked not bad, but was rather bland in taste.

Claypot Beancurd with Sliced Dory Fish and Pickled Olive (RM26.90++)

The fish was dry and tough. Quite disappointing dish.
