Disappointing Meal Cry Aug 22, 2016
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood | Noodles

The outlet was part of a rather well chain in Malaysia which was known for its chinese style soups.

Do take note that the Guava with Mandarin Peels (RM 3.90++) and wet tissue on the table are chargeable.

Souper Tang Signature Soup 汤师爷招牌参鸡汤 (RM39.90++/ 2 pax)

Requested for the soup to be boiling hot, yet it was served barely warm. Asked to send back. It was served slightly hotter the second time although we suspected that the bowl was microwaved.

The meat looked quite red, with lots of bruised markings around. How to eat?

Pan Fried Eggplant with Scallop in XO Sauce
(RM18.90++)

It had a strong alcohol smell when served. It was a very soupy dish, different from what was shown on menu which had looked rather dry.

Simmered Chinese Spinach with Wolfberry (RM15.90++)

Looked not bad, but was rather bland in taste.

Claypot Beancurd with Sliced Dory Fish and Pickled Olive (RM26.90++)

The fish was dry and tough. Quite disappointing dish.

Disappointing Service Cry Jun 05, 2015
Categories : Malay | Western variety | Restaurant | Nasi Lemak

Recently I received a voucher from the shopping mall that enables one to redeem up to 2 kid meals with purchase of a main course at this restaurant. The restaurant is located at Level 7 and we have a hard time trying to locate this place.

As it is already past 9pm when we reach the restaurant and the restaurant closes at 9.45pm, we decide to takeaway the meal. We show the staff the voucher, but it is not acknowledged by him. After that we are showed to a series of staffs and left waiting outside the restaurant without a reply. One of the staffs who turns out to be the assistant manager, evens gives an excuse that he is not a regular staff here and therefore does not know about this promotion.

After a very long series of talks, the voucher is finally acknowledged by the restaurant. We order a main of Fish & Chips (RM29+) with Nasi Goreng with Chicken Satay (RM12+) and Fish and Chips (RM12+) as the free kid meals.

Another bad surprise for us when we look through our takeaway. Instead of Nasi Goreng with Chicken Satay, the takeaway turns out to be Chicken Mushroom Spaghetti (RM12+). By then we are too angry and tired to ask for exchange with the staff, and also it is almost closing time. The fish and chips has a stale oil taste. The pasta fairs slightly, although it is a bit too creamy and rich.

Overall this is a very bad experience with the restaurant. No wonder there is not much customers in this restaurant, even it is decorated very classy. With this kind of service, who would want to dine in here. Poor service plus wrong order equals bad experience.

Horrible Place Cry Jun 11, 2014

Menu

Menu

The cafe is rather crowded and we have to wait awhile getting a booth table.

Club Sandwich (RM9.90)

French Toast (RM 4.90)

Sesame Roasted Chicken Noodles (Dry)

Soothing Watercess Prune Juice (RM4.00)

Lemon Ribena (RM3.50)
Quite disappointed with this drink as it turns out to be plain Ribena which one can easily make at home.

Overall it is a horrible place that I do not wish to be back. While eating we spot a roach on the wall, and one of us smashed it with a stack of pamphlet which we received just before walking into the restaurant. A short while later another roach pops out. It is getting a bit too much for 5 females. We even tell the staff but nothing is being done.

Donuts for snack Cry Apr 10, 2014
Categories : Western variety | Food court

The last time which I have Mister Donut is when I am in Taiwan. I am surprise to see it in Malaysia. Besides donuts, there is also big-sized muffins for sale too. Priced at 12 pieces at RM20.00, 6 pieces at RM12.00, which I feel is quite reasonable. But the tastes is far from what I used to have. The donut tastes more hard and less airy. Seems to have a lacking of lightness.

Expensive local food Cry Apr 10, 2014
Categories : Malaysian variety | Café | Noodles | Halal | Nasi Lemak

At the airport, there is not choices for a meal. We decide to stop here for a quick meal before boarding the plane. As Old Town White Coffee has a lot of outlets all over Malaysia, I am supposed the food should be not bad, but how wrong am I. Especially when there no real kitchen at this outlet. The food dishes are mostly warm up in the microwave ovens.

Ipoh Chicken Hor Fun (RM11.30)
The dish is quite plain and seem quite expensive for such a dish.

Rendang Chicken Rice (RM15.30)
Another overpriced dish. The chicken is rather dry here.

Kaya Butter Toast (RM5.30)
As there is no toast sets sold at this outlet, I have to order them separately. The toast is crispy but lacking of freshness and soft texture inside.

White Coffee (RM4.90/ Hot), Enrich Chocolate (RM5.50/ Hot)
The fancy named Enrich Chocolate turns out to be Milo. Overall the drinks are average and are quite hot.

Overall the items on the menu are highly overpriced. The dishes are disappointing.
