Fried mee Hoon Singapore is definitely not a Penang dish, i am not even sure if it was originated from Singapore. Anyway, fried mee hon Singapore style is just normal. i think many places such as the "dai chao" place could do better than this one here. The Singapore fried mee hoon has fish cakes, egg, beansprouts, shrimps and garlic. Taste wise, i think it was quite bland.

Prawn Mee Cry May 23, 2013

My first time trying the prawn mee from this stall was not a pleasant experience. This is mainly due to the food quality. I do not like the soup of the prawn mee at all. The soup was bland and no flavors, i don't feel like this is a prawn mee noodle. Although i know where to get the better prawn mee, but sometimes this place is so near my place i thought i should just give it a try. Big mistake for ordering this.

I am not always happy with the service provided by the staffs in old town coffee. Almost all the staffs seems to be very slow in what they are doing. I ordered the mee hoon siam with fried chicken, thinking this dish doesn't even need to be cooked because it is already cooked and sent to the outlet. I was so wrong, my mee hoon siam took about half an hour to be served. I find it so ridiculous that such a dish that only need warming up, and add in a piece of fried chicken can take ages to arrive. Not to mention the mee hoon siam was bland and dry. The fried chicken was also dry and tough.

Mee Jawa Cry May 23, 2013

A variety of local dishes is available from old town white coffee. I can't say that this is the favorite place for food, but it does provide comfort and convenience since they are many outlets. The mee jawa was really not up to standard. The mee jawa in the menu looks nicer than the real food. There were very little ingredients in the noodle. Furthermore, the taste was just bland.

Hokkien Mee Cry May 23, 2013   (Related Review)

In penang, people called the prawn mee as the hokkien mee. The hokkien mee in Penang One was a disappoinment. We were highly anticipating a good bowl of hokkien mee but it truly caught us by surprise the quality of the hokkien mee was no where comparable to even a normal bowl of prawn mee in lakng valley. The soup of the hokkien mee basically lacked flavors and tasted bland, even with other ingredients such as the shrimp, there is no sweetness in the soup.
