Mom ordered a bowl of pan mee. The pan mee took a while to come. Well, she didn't finish the pan mee and she told me the pan mee was too oily. Judging from the picture, yes, it looks really oily. Taste wise, the anchovies soup was mediocre. Not enough of the anchovies taste in it. The owner of the stall also added some seaweed in the dish, which is not a normal ingredient you will find in pan mee.

This stall that sells ipoh chicken hor fun in the coffee shop is not my favorite stall. I’m quite upset about the dish, although it looks presentable. The hor fun soup was lacked of taste, the soup was just bland. The most disappointing will be the blanched chicken itself. The chicken was rough and has no taste at all. I can’t taste any juiciness or sweetness from the chicken. The beansprouts were not seasoned well and tasted bland too. Not recommended to order this again.

For my other vegetarian guests, they ordered the fried omelette. I tasted a small portion of the omelette and feels that the omelette was too salty for me. Perhaps the chef accidentally sprinkled too much salt in it. Anyway, the omelette was over cooked as there were some burnt parts and a bit too dry. Some onions were fried together with the omelette. It's a simple dish but sometimes the chef can overlooked simplicity.

The spicy meatball chicken spaghetti was similar to the chicken spaghetti in cream sauce. They both tasted “simple”. When I say they tasted simple, I mean I can’t taste different taste from different ingredients in the dish. Thus, saying the food was not cooked with many ingredients or herbs or seasoning. The meatball was actually similar to Ayamas chicken meatballs. The sauce was a tomato sauce with very mild spiciness. Therefore, I think they really need to season the food well before serving to the customers. The other disappointment is that I don’t find the food served hot enough. I think the food has been sitting around for a while before served to us.

The set lunch at Madam Mooi comes with a drink. I picked iced lemon tea for my set lunch. The iced lemon tea was a big disappointment. The tea lacked flavors and I feel it was diluted. The drink was not sweet, but I doubt adding sweetness to the drink will improve the taste at all. I think it is important to have a strong tea taste in the drink. Lemon taste was also missing in this drink. I certainly didn’t manage to finish the drink.
