Hon Kee Porridge Smile Jul 16, 2012

Categories : Chinese | Food court | Porridge

Hutong Foodcourt in Lot 10 has brought in many famous eateries around KL area into one stop. Meaning that, customers can enjoy all the good food without having to travel from one place to another. Furthermore, the environment in Hutong is cozy and relaxing with modern interior, definitely gives a more comfortable dining environment to diners. Hon Kee Porridge, a famous porridge shop originated from Petaling Street, has opened an outlet in Lot 10 Hutong Food Court too. Hon Kee Porridge stall in Hutong Foodcourt is bigger and cleaner comparing to the one in Petaling Street.

Pork Intestine Porridge

Since I have tried before their famous fish porridge, I try on pork intestine porridge this time, and it taste equally good. The porridge is thick, rich, smooth and very tummy warming too. I like the deep fried pork intestine which is very crunchy and brings a cracking sound every time I munch into them, and the crunchy texture brings good complement to the smooth porridge, giving a taste in different texture.

Teochew Chendul along Penang Road in Penang is the most famous cendul stall in Penang. The stall is located in a humble back lane, small and shabby, with containers consisting red bean, cendul, coconut milk ,ice and gula melaka sauce occupying almost the whole stall. The stall is crowded with people all the time, and everyone standing near to stall is holding a bowl of cendul and eating it happily.

Teochew Cendul
The cendul comes in a small bowl, and it is sweet, chilling and refreshing with nice aroma from gula melaka and coconut milk. Having the soup together with cendul and red bean is indeed a perfect combination, and eating this under the hot sun is no doubt something enjoyable.

Just Thai is a restaurant in One Utama serving authentic Thai food and it is located directly opposite to Speedy video shop. The restaurant offers not only great food, but also great ambience that allows diners to dine comfortably, with Thai and Bali style decorations.

Mango Sticky Rice
A delicious Thai dessert that everyone shouldn't miss in Just Thai. Sticky rice cooked in sweetened coconut milk and sided with sweet and juicy mango slices. Scoop a spoonful of thicken coconut milk onto the sticky rice and eat together with the mango, the sweet, salty and rich combination will make you scoop for more.

Wong Chau Jun Smile Jul 16, 2012
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles

Wong Chau Jun is a restaurant in Penang George Town serving Chinese dish such as fish head noodles, steamed fish with hor fun, pork rib noodles and Wong Chau Jun signature tafu. Most customers come here for breakfast, and brunch for some. The shop is simple, brightly lit with chairs and tables as in most Chinese restaurant.

Steamed fish with Hor Fun
The whole dish is pretty simple, but the freshness of the ingredient makes the dish excellent. It is actually thickly sliced hor fun and fresh fish meat drenched in soy sauce and steamed to perfection. The juiciness of the fish is locked inside the fish, making it so juicy and soft. The hor fun is very smooth, and taste even smoother with the soy sauce.

Categories : Chinese | Bakery / Cake / Kuih

Kedai Biskut & Kek Ming Xiang Tai is a shop located along Burmah Road and it is originated from Teluk Intan. The shop is famous for their Trishaw Egg Tart. It is a rather small shop but very clean and tidy, with Chinese ancient wooden concept. One side of the shop has a counter and a cabinet with arrays of pastries and biscuit arranged beautifully for customers' to choose from. The other side of the shop has few tables with tall chairs where customers can enjoy the delicacies from Ming Xiang Tai such as egg tart, tau fu fa, chicken pai, and kaya puff.

Egg Tart
Handmade using a family recipes which has been passed down for more than 30 years, the egg tart is seriously delicious. The crust is fresh, puffy and flaky while the fillings is eggy, smooth, soft and not overly sweet. Biting into only one is never enough.

Salted Egg Pastry
Another must try in the shop will be the salted egg pastry. It is actually a flaky crust with salted egg and lotus paste brimming inside. The salted egg and lotus paste give a salty and sweet concoction, pairing so well with the aromatic crust.
