Another night for family dinner.
Always wanted to try Euro Deli so dad agreed on bringing us there to have a fest!

P.S : The place doesn't serve halal food. If you're sensitive with the topic, don't proceed yea. Thanks. smile

My first thought of Euro Deli was a place for youngster but I was wrong. Really wrong. They cater from young to old. I saw a middle age couple went there for dinner. How sweet. smile A lot of kids were there running around too! shocked

Weee~~ Buns and butter~
Hot buns that just got out from the kitchen were so hot and soft.
Mix together with the cold butter.
Oh~ Cause you're hot and you're cold~~
Okay. Ignore me. Too high. =.=

Spaetzli with bacon
RM15.90
I just went to google what's spaetzli. Most called it spaetzle. They're actually Germany dumplings made of flour. The texture of the spaetzle are really chewy and soft. They served with bacon pieces which make the whole dish so delicious! Not forgetting how much I really love bacon. smile I would recommend sharing for this because if you take this up alone, you might feel a little bit too filling or jelat after you finish about half of the plate.

Spaghetti Salmon
RM31.90
Most probably you would think the price is too much for a plate of pasta. I thought the same thing too at first but after I tasted it, the price was really worth it! The portion is huge! If you love salmon and pasta, I would definitely recommend this dish! The sauce was very creamy and the salmon was cooked really well and perfect. Ain't too cook or too raw. The spaghetti itself was very Q Q which meant they are very...ermm..elastic? Erm..you don't use that term for food right?

Mixed Sausage Platter 4
RM45.90
I think the title was pretty clear. 4 different sausages. Big one small one rough one soft one.
And I thought sausages only have different flavours not texture. Who knows texture can be so important.
Erm yeah. I also realized that almost each table ordered this dish! I really enjoyed this dish. If possible, I would like to have this all of my own.

Butcher's Plate
RM39.90
When I saw the whole meat thingy, I was like...yeah...they have the dish named right.
The thing was...I don't remember how many different meat they have. I personally think one of the meat was too dry but I dipped them onto the sauce from Mixed Grill. I didn't know it would tuned out so well! lol Super love the mash potato! So mashy and yummy. Their coleslaw....*thumbs up*

Mixed Grill
RM39.90
My sis totally fall in love with this plate of dish. Most probably because they served lamb chop. Anyhow, I like how the sauce was really blend inside the lamb chop and the sausage. Realized almost every dish had a sausage? My mom asked us "Why do they have sausages everywhere?" HAHAHA. Mommy mommy.
They have some little mushroom served with the lamb chop too! Together with the mash potato. Voila! I found new love! I've forgotten what do you called for the little meshy stuff there but it tasted pretty nice though! lol Highly recommended!

I would definitely recommend this place. Highly recommended. Even though the place were pretty high but the portion was big and the food tasted really good so I wouldn't mind paying for the price that they had. If you're tight on budget but you would like to try, why not try sharing with a friend or few friends? At least you don't have to pay that much. True? For first timer, I would definitely recommend you to order less because the portion is big. I repeat. BIG!

My whole family are quite a big eater. First time being there and we didn't know how large was the portion so we ordered 5 dishes! We managed to finish everything except the spaghetti salmon. We da bao back home. Even though we finished everything, our stomach was too full. Mom almost couldn't walk. shocked
So yeah. My advise, don't order too much!

Euro Deli. My kind of deli.
Er...That doesn't make any sense.
Oh wells~

[Food Review] Hokano Smile Jan 03, 2013

I love how the restaurant being so cozy, unique, homey and clean.
The place is always full house. I guess they're lacking of staff as well. Food comes in slightly later but hey! As long they're quality food, we're always okay with it right? smile
Even though they're not many staff but trust me, all of them are friendly and patience.
They will also tell you that certain dishes need to wait for quite a while and recommend which dish etc.

I like to start off my dish with Chawan Mushi.

Chawan Mushi
RM4.50

Not just that the dish is hot but the texture was so smooth! Just be careful don't eat it straight when the food comes okay? You'll get your tongue burn for sure! I like how the egg taste blends together with the mushroom and other ingredients because some places serves chawan mushi that has only the taste of eggs which I don't really like it. All of the taste is just right. But the best is I love the texture and the heat! Recommended!

We tried a new dish!

Cha Soba
RM8.50

I'm having the bad habit again. Blowing noodles. And this is the cold noodle. =.= Yeah. I dumb dumb.
Certain places need you to mix the egg and noodles yourself but in Hokano, they already have the noodles mixed with egg. I was quite surprise when they serve wasabi. As far as I know, the places I went to didn't give me wasabi when I order Cha Soba. But anyhow, I prefer it to mix with wasabi! Yes! Noodle with wasabi. Sounds weird. Looks weird. Imagine weird. But the mixture of noodle together with the soy sauce and a little bit of wasabi actually makes the whole combination even better! Three is better than two after all. If you don't mind trying out cold noodle, why not trying out this?

Gyu Katsu Don
RM17.50

First thing. This dish is HUGEEEE!!! I finished it but my stomach can only fit a little bit more for small portion of sashimi and sushi. Basically this is beef bowl rice together with egg. Remember guys! Whoever can't eat beef, DON'T order yea! The beef is nicely marinated and stewed! Eat with the sticky rice! I likeeee! Not to forget the egg too! It sticks with the meat somehow. But I also like! Maybe it's because I'm a total fan of beef. I would say the price is worth it because the portion is huge and I like the amount of taste the beef gives out. Also, I forgotten something...their meat is a lot...and thick! Thick at the right thickness. smile

Tempura Udon
RM15.50

I like how the noodle being very tender-ish even though they already soaked in the soup. As usual, I choose to eat ebi tempura only. =.= I really like to dip the crunchiness into the soup because you get both at the same time. Crunchy and soft with the taste of the soup.

Sashimi
RM16-RM20 per set (5 pieces)

Fresh. Yummy. Tasty.
I like the right thickness they cut it. Even if the sashimi is very fresh but if it's too thick, you wouldn't think it's nice too. But I'm really glad that Hokano never disappoint me at this. Remember to put squeeze some lemon juice on the sashimi yea! It'll make it 100 times better! Together with wasabi is just perfect! Simply perfect!

Alaska Roll
RM18.50

I just love the texture of this sushi. Crunchy cucumber and soft crab stick and little bit of egg and avocado being wrap with the rice. Soft and hard. It may look jelat but with the raw salmon that is wrap at the outermost layer of the sushi. It actually turns this sushi into a refreshing one. I wouldn't mind having this before a heavy meal. All ingredients are freshly made. smile

Categories : Italian | Restaurant | Pizza/Pasta | Burgers / Sandwiches

Have been eating A LOT since last week and yesterday I've wento the Fat Spoon that used Grandma's Recipe. If you haven't catch the post, here's the quick link. The place where I went today was also a place that focus on homemade food.

Here I present to you....

.....

Urbano e Fresco!

You need not go to Italy to taste their food. Just drop by Urbano e Fresco, you get to eat the authentic Italian food without travelling all the way to Italy. 12noon till 3pm would be the best timing for lunch and Urbano also serve set meal if you're looking for value yet delicious meal. The food served in Urbano often prepared with fresh and best quality ingredients. Some even came all the way from Italy! Besides the food, you can also purchase the special sauce from Urbano e Fresco. All the sauces and ingredients sold in Urbano e Fresco were manufacture in Italy itself and distribute to Malaysia. Another thing that got me interest towards these ingredients were the design of the bottles. They were so damn cute!

What to expect when you step into a Italian cuisine restaurant? All I can say was expect the unexpected. Hehe.
The surroundings of the environment was pretty quiet and calm. Suitable for those who needed a less crowded place to dine in. Other than that, the interior design of the place was simple and neat. Not to mention that they were quite special too. Simple yet extraordinary mural that was painted on the wall made the whole place more calm and outstanding. I would say that they were really good in modernizing the original vintage style. Impressive.

I really admired how they used their creativity for decorations.

Who would ever thought of using these for decorations? By the way, what do you called these again? Lol.

They also have the vintage style huge camera that we usually watch them on TV.

With a few drawings and paintings on the clean white wall, it totally turned the place to a colorful yet neat looking area. smile The atmosphere was really nice and I like it so much. If I was alone and needed to have a meal in a quiet place, Urbano e Fresco would be a good choice.

Before I enter to the food section, there's a story (not exactly a story actually) I would like to share.
We had a little talk with Mr.Ali, the branch manager of Urbano e Fresco. He said that most people having a mindset of when they see the place is very stylish, they would think that the place serve expensive food.

I agreed with what he said because I was and still a person like this. When I passed by a place that looked a classy, I would actually walked away without finding out what was the price of the food. When I entered Urbano e Fresco, that was what I thought too actually but I was wrong. The price of the food was affordable. Plus, the portion was pretty huge too. If you were afraid that you couldn't finish it, do share them with your friends. Sharing is caring.

Bruschetta.
RM9.90

Bruschetta was basically toasted baguette bread with extra-virgin olive oil, fresh tomatoes, onions and fresh basil leaves. This was the bomb! Not just that the bread was crunchy and crispy, it actually absorbed the juice of the tomatoes which made the bread even tastier. The thing about tomatoes were that if they weren't fresh, what can you taste was the tomato juice only, not the texture. But for this particular dish, even though the tomatoes were really small in size but I can still taste the texture and they weren't lembik at all. (Sorry for my rojak-ness) Crunchy and crispy bread along with the soft yet fresh tomatoes. This was definitely a recommended choice for appetizers! Thumbs up!

Caprese Salad.
RM36++
They are sliced fresh buffalo mozzarella. tomatoes. extra virgin olive oil and basil. Sorry that I have my own weird way in eating this. First half I ate both tomatoes and mozzarella together. Second half. I ate them separately. HAHAHA. That was my way in seeing whether the ingredients were fresh or not okay! Hehe. Surprisingly, I like to eat them both together and separately simply because they were so fresh! I was so scared of cutting sliced tomato into half because usually they would splattered all around and such but the tomato was so fresh that it followed the direction my knife went without splattering all over. Together with the mozzarella, I wanted to say perfect but nothing is perfect so the dish was almost perfect! Never believed that I would actually enjoyed mozzarella. Hehe. Even when I ate them separately, they were still good! It was all about the freshness of the ingredients for this dish. (Y)

Harvest Pizza.
9" - RM20.90
12" - RM25.90
15" - RM33.90

To me, the important part about pizza was the bread. I liked it thin. I liked it crispy. smile
Urbano e Fresco signature tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, cherry tomato, fresh garlic, rocket salad, peppers, fresh spinach, fresh basil, broccoli, red onion with a drop of olive oil.
The tomato sauce they had for the pizza weren't too strong but it was good because you get to taste the rest of the ingredients like the cheese as well as the cherry tomato. I know how cheese and tomato can blend really well but most of the time, it was either one overpowering the other. But you can taste both cheese and tomato at the same time for the pizza.

Amatriciana
RM17.90

If you couldn't eat beef, remember NOT to order this yea because the bacon is actually beef.
I like how the pasta having its tenderness and the filled with sauce inside. I think it was because they used their homemade sauce that was why the taste was slightly different and special. I really love bacon but I hardly try beef bacon. So, I was pretty surprise how well it could blend the taste together with the pasta and the sauce. The mixture of the whole dish weren't too filling even though they have the tomato sauce going around. And again, the sauce didn't overpower the pasta and bacon. You can still taste the original taste of the bacon as well as the texture of the pasta.

Aglio Olio Mushroom & Arugula.
RM16.90

I was never a fan of Aglio Olio because they were very dried, just like their sauce got sucked by vampire. Surprisingly, the Aglio Olio that Urbano has was juicy, just that it was a little bit too oily and sticky for me but was glad that it wasn't dried. I like the mushroom! You know some mushroom had the weird roasted smell and taste but this doesn't had any of those. Together with the chilli flakes that they added onto the Aglio Olio, the tasteless pasta became pasta that had a little bit of spiciness together with the fresh cherry tomato and mushroom!
You can also add on chicken or prawn by topping up RM4.50.

Besides food, they also served drinks too! Not to mention that they have tbrown sugar together with a little big of chilli flakes. Yeah. They were homemade so don't fear of the ingredients to be inserted into your coffee. smile

Also, they have really cute design of bottles even when it wasn't for ingredients purposes.

In Urbano e Fresco, 80% of the customers were returning customers. Some came over to the restaurant few times a week. Also, what I like about was the interactions that Mr.Ali had with the society and food lovers. They often have events such as kids making pizza with the guidance and observation of the chef from Italy. This can actually be a learning process for the kids as well as their fun time. I also like how Urbano educate people more about Italian food too. It's always rare to find person in charge of a restaurant to take note of small details in every aspect but this is definitely a great start for people to learn more about Italian food. smile

[Food Review] New Tasty Pot Smile Jan 17, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Buffet | Steamboat/Hotpot | BBQ

Thanks to Open Rice, I scored an invitation to join MakanVenture at New Tasty Pot yesterday. Tasty Pot had moved to different place. Instead of being opposite Ambank, it's behind Ambank now which is much better. The surrounding place has more parking lots for the customers. Even though they don't have second floors, but the restaurant is still big enough to fit large amount of people as the place is bigger now.

First off, they have 7 choices of soups. I've tried the Soya Bean, TomYan and Herbal Chicken. If you enjoy something lighter, they do have chicken soup too which is not in the list of 7 soups. What are the others? You gotta go and check it out but trust me, the soups are really special and different. Soya Bean is the best seller in the restaurant. For those who enjoy spiciness, their TomYam is definitely the soup to order. The taste of it is really really good. Must order.

The ingredients provided in Tasty Pot are really fresh I must say. And....they got a lot of choices too! Even just the clam, the choices were crazy! I've never seen so many different clams in one place! I love the sotong too! So chewy! They got many choice of everything. Drinks, ingredients and ice cream! Don't believe me? Check the photos below!

The good side is...you can choose up to three soups in one pot! Oh right. As I said that the Soya Bean is the best seller therefore, there will be a chance that they will run out of the soup. The environment is good cozy and easy to walk around even they are many people around especially during the weekends. Do check out the BBQ section as they are the HOT section too! During the weekends, people will start queuing up for the NZ Lamb. That's the best part! Be sure to follow up everytime as the existing customers are really familiar with the time and such, they know when to queue up. tongue

Overall, everything is really good. When you have really good companion that can eat a lot with you, that's the best part! You can just take as much as you want because the ingredients are always refillable. The service is really fast but when it comes to 8pm or so, they service will starts to slow down especially the cleaning up part. The price is really affordable too! RM30 per person. For ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET. smile

This is the restaurant that is really worth to try because it will make you want to go back to them again and AGAIN.

Food Foundry @ PJ OK Jan 03, 2013
Categories : Western variety | Café | Steaks / Chops | Sweets/Snack

Two weekends I went to the same place with friends and family. Certainly they made me wanted to go for the third time again.

Food Foundry @ Happy Mansion.

Really enjoyed the place after they renovated. It feels so homey! lol
Feel so relax and cozy here~

Chicken Cordon Bleu
RM19.00
Fried chicken breast with bread crumbs along with ham and melted cheese inside.
Mix with the black pepper sauce just make the whole dish really delicious.
But I would prefer to have more settled cheese because everytime when I cut them into pieces, the cheese fall out from the ham. :/
Mash potato was pretty good too! Especially when there's black pepper sauce as the gravy.
Well, I didn't eat the vege because I'm not a vege kind of person. Hehe
If you're looking out for something who can fill your stomach just nice without thinking wanted to have a light meal or heavy meal, I do recommend this! The portion is just good even though it may look small.

Mushroom Pasta
RM18.00
Didn't really like the taste of chilli flakes covering the spaghetti. The mushroom tasted a bit weird too.
Not much comment about it. :/

Pasta (Forgotten the name)
RM18.00
Don't really remember the name of this dish but I remember it's Dorry fish with spaghetti.
Dorry fish was well cooked with no weird smell. smile Dried dorry with creamy spaghetti just make the whole dish really well match.

Chicken Chop
RM19.00
I would say that it wasn't so good that would make people go wow but the thing I like about it is the black pepper sauce was just nice. The level of "spiciness" was really nicely blend with the well done chicken.

Fish & Chip
RM18.00
The fish was cooked nicely when we first cut them into pieces. Mixed along with the lemon sauce and the tartar sauce were really perfect. Continue with a huge bowl of fries just make everthing even better and settle down with a small bowl of coleslaw.

Mille Crepe Cake (Mango)
RM10.00
We had cake to kick start out dinner. ( What bullshit -.- )
Mille crepe actually implies the meaning of many layers of crepe.
The flavour we chose was mango and we can actually taste mango in almost every layer!
The cake was filled with mango and a little bit taste of vanilla.
This cake just make me feel so happy lol

Carbonara Pasta
RM18.00
Looks really dried up at first when they dish came but when you mix it well, the spaghetti is really juicy!
I mean it! I like the cream sauce where it's not too creamy that would make you feel so full or it's not too tasteless that you're eating water. It's just right. Together with the bacon slices, I must say...this dish is pretty good. smile

Beef Lasagna
RM18.00
My all time favourite. BEEF! tongue Sorry to those who doesn't eat beef, you need to bear with me for a while.
Beef, cheese, cream sauce really make the dish quite special. Usually we taste more of tomato sauce instead of cream. But they used cream and surprisingly, cream tasted really well too! It actually blend along with the dry beef in between the layers.

For the price, it may not fit in the category of everyday meal but here is definitely a good choice if you're having celebration or decide to have a meal for occasions. Firstly because of the place is really cozy yet stylish. You feel really comfortable while eating there. Also, Food Foundry is a pretty good place to camwhore! smile As for the taste for the food, I would say that they're above average but the cakes are really good. The cakes are well recommended! lol
